Welcome To Our Church

Jesus said at the beginning of His ministry, in Luke 4:18-19, that he was sent by God "...... to preach good news to the poor.  He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor ."  Then, at the end of His ministry, He told His disciples to carry on that purpose.  matthew 28: 19-20, " Therefore, go and  make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you ."   

That is our simple purpose here at the Athens Church of Christ, to "Make Disciples".  We hope to spread the good news of the Kingdom of god through Loving God, Loving Others, Serving the World, and reaching the World.
